Patricia A. Murray

Patricia A. Murray, wife and best friend of Leo (Wally) Allstun, made her transition on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Jackson Manor surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of Gerald E. Murray and Velma Murray Pazkiewicz, Pat was born November 26, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from Jennings High School. Pat went on to receive a B.S. in Education from Southeast Missouri State University, a M.A. in Education from Northern Arizona University and a Ed.D. from Indiana University. She later received a M.A. in Psychological Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University. Pat taught physical education at Ritenour High School in St. Louis and Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. She returned to teach at Southeast Missouri State University in 1970 retiring in 1993. While at Southeast, she directed the performing dance company for 14 years. In addition, she developed and implemented the Alcohol and Drug Education Program for Southeast Missouri State University. She and her husband, Leo (Wally) Allstun, owned and operated Regional Counseling and Employee Assistance Services, Inc. Working as a licensed professional counselor in the employee assistance field from 1993-2010. She loved to play golf, travel, read and received great satisfaction from her dogs. Her most precious time was spent participating in the lives of her niece Kelsey Bohnert and nephew Ben Bohnert. She is survived by her husband, stepdaughter, Katie (Josh) Allstun Ferguson and stepson, David (Andrea) Allstun; 6 grandchildren, Alexis Allstun, Emri Ferguson, Eliyanah Ferguson, Zola Allstun, Lainey Brown and Ellie Brown; sisters, Donna (Larry) Fowler and Jeri (Jerry) Kinder; nieces, Kelsey Bohnert, Lisa (Gary) Fowler-Koeppe and Michelle Fowler; nephew, Benjamin Bohnert; great-nephews, Sam (Erik Anundson) Koeppe and Max Koeppe. She leaves behind special friends, William (Lydia) Bohnert and Lee Love. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be Sunday, October 2, 2022, from 4-7 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral service will be on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Brett Cheek officiating. Private burial for the family will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Southeast Missouri Pets.
