Linda Faye Harmon

Linda Faye Harmon, 82, of Port St. Lucie, Florida (formerly Cedar Rapids, Iowa), passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at A Touch of Class Adult Care home in Port St. Lucie. She was born June 11, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Raymond T. and Opal Pauline Sample Roth of Illmo, Missouri. She and James Harmon, formerly from Chaffee, were married August 8, 1965 at Eisleben Lutheran Church in Illmo. Linda was a 1961 graduate of Illmo-Scott City High School and received a bachelors in home economics from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. She taught high school home economics for one year in Cuba, Missouri. and one year at Jefferson High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, before becoming a full-time home maker and mother. Linda lived her life with a deep and abiding devotion to the Lord which guided her in all things. Her faith was the foundation upon which she built a life filled with compassion, generosity and love. She was formerly a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Illmo and was currently a member of New Covenant Bible Church (NCBC) in Cedar Rapids where she had served as wedding coordinator for over 20 years. She was blessed to be surrounded by Christian friends through multiple prayer groups and members of NCBC. She had a gift of prayer that blessed all who knew her. She loved antiques, shopping, thrifting, and restoring Ginny dolls to their original beauty. She was a talented seamstress sewing many bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses, costumes for her granddaughters, and doll dresses. She had a flare for decorating and could set a dining table that would rival anything out of a designer magazine. She enjoyed making every occasion an event with her thoughtful touches and attention to details. She made those around her feel very special and loved. Whether through quiet moments at home or joyful gatherings, Linda found her greatest happiness in the presence of those she loved. Survivors include her husband, James Harmon of Port St. Lucie, FL; two daughters, Laura Harmon (John E.) Krog of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and Tasha Harmon (Todd E.) Miller of Vero Beach, FL; two granddaughters, Macey Lauren Miller and Marissa Lynn Miller of Palm Bay, FL; sister, Peggy (Norman) Brooks of Scott City, MO; and niece, Susan Brooks (Paul) Kendrick of Columbia, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Steven Roth. A private burial with only family members attending, will be held at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to Samaritan's Purse, one of Linda's favorite charities.
