William Frank Skelton Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

William Frank Skelton, 72, of Scott City, Missouri died Monday, August 3, 2020 at Saint Francis Medical Center. He was born May 26, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois to Lester Leroy and Dorothy Tonning Skelton. He and Peggy Gross were married October 3, 2016. He served in the U.S. army for 12 and a half years, being stationed twice in Germany, twice in Korea, as well as in the United States. After retirement he was a volunteer at St. Francis Medical Center for 13 years and his favorite pastime was bowling. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Skelton of Scott City; two sons, Allen Christopher (Rita) Skelton of Cornelius, Oregon and Kevin Lynn Skelton of Scott City, Missouri; two sisters, Helen (Bob) Goettsch of Lexington, South Carolina and Mary Skelton of Lake Villa, Illinois; two grandchildren, Emily Skelton of Cornelius, Oregon and Christopher Skelton of Hillsboro, Oregon; two step-sons, Gregory (Kim) Gross of Scott City, Missouri and James (Lisa) Penny of Cape Girardeau; and other loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother; and prior wife, Wilma Skelton. Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating, followed by full military honors.
