Becky Heuer, 84, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Life Care Center with her family by her side. Becky was born July 1, 1937 in Cape Girardeau to Henry and Elizabeth Van Gilder Froemsdorf. Becky and Donald Leo Heuer were married on September 4, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and confirmed. She attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Cape Central High School. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and spent a lot of time helping with the church. She was active with Trinity Lutheran Senior Ladies Aid, Lutheran Missionary League, as past zone president, and Trinity Christian Outreach. She enjoyed volunteering at Lutheran Family and Children's Services. Becky was a member of the Rose Garden (garden club), the Daughters of the American Revolution in which she was recognized as a 25 year member on October 24, 2017, and Missouri Extension Homemakers Club. She was awarded honorary citizenship in Boys Town Nebraska in 2017, and she received a certificate of completion for Leadership and Supervisory Skills for Women from Lutheran Family and Children's Services on May 11, 1988. She formerly worked at Barnes Hospital and in banking in St. Louis. When her dad died, Becky and her brothers became owners of Acme Electric, which became Reli Electric and then became KAGMO Electric Motors. Becky enjoyed camping and taking long trips in the RV with her husband. Many fond memories were made taking trips to Texas, South Dakota and Alaska. Becky loved traveling in the motor home and had a very compassionate love for collecting angels. Becky also loved going to Las Vegas with her mother and gambling at different places. Becky had a very enjoyable life on an everyday basis, taking car rides with her husband and counting deer along the way. Becky left behind her husband, Don Heuer of 67 years; one daughter, Wendy (Jerry) Houchins of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Thomas (Elizabeth) Froemsdorf of Kelso, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Jewel Froemsdorf of Fruitland, Missouri; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edward and Shelby Johnson of Sedgewickville, Missouri. Becky will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all her nieces and nephews. Becky was preceded in death, by her mom, Elizabeth Froemsdorf and dad, Henry Froemsdorf; two brothers, Sonny Froemsdorf and Douglas Froemsdorf. Friends may call 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 14, 2022 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum in Cape Girardeau. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given toTrinity Lutheran Church, Lutheran Family & Childrens Services, or Crown Hospice.
