Judith Ann Birk, 80, of Charleston, Missouri passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, while surrounded by her loving family in Cape Girardeau. She was born on November 14, 1941, in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Lyman and Monteen McCann Dame. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and retired as a bookkeeper at John Deere in Sikeston. She had also been a Real Estate Agent with Bollinger Real Estate and had previously worked as a teacher's aide at Kelly Elementary School. She enjoyed playing the piano and the organ, and served as a Church organist starting at the age of 13. She volunteered as a 4-H youth advisor for many years, and also taught Sunday School. She loved to garden and to spend time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Roy Otto Birk, who she married on April 7, 1963 at Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston, Missouri. She is survived by one daughter and two sons, Jennifer Birk-Cook (Stan Cook) of Perryville, Gregory (Jennifer) Birk of Charleston, and Daryl (April) Birk of Jackson. She was blessed with ten grandchildren: Rachel (Clay) Schmidli, Caleb (Kristi) Birk, Aaron (Linsey) Birk, Lydia Cook, Olivia Cook, Jonah Cook, Adam Birk, Lauren Birk, Megan Birk, and Jacob Birk. She is also survived by her brother and sister, Lyman L (Debora) Dame Jr. and Debbie (David) Yarbrough. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Charleston, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church Ladies Aid or American Cancer Society.
