    James Wesley Stanfield Jr.

    February 27, 1938 - October 30, 2021

    James Wesley Stanfield Jr. (Jub, J.W. Jay, Jim), 83, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, October 30, 2021. J.W. was born February 27, 1938 in Steele, Missouri to James Wesley and Mable Eula Longacre Stanfield. He and Brenda Jennings were married September 27, 1958. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2001. He then married Audrey Hovis Stafford on August 14, 2004. In his early years he delivered milk. Over the years he worked at Cape Ready Mix, Rose Concrete Products, Kimbeland Country Club and Cape Jaycees Golf Course. He bowled in leagues for many years. He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Stanfield of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Brian (Marsha) Stanfield of Penfield, New York and Chris (Misti) Stanfield of Sikeston, Missouri; a daughter, Kathy (Benny) Cagle of Little Rock, Arkansas; a step-son, Mark Stafford of Scott City, Missouri; two brothers, Charles (Linda) Stanfield of Canal Winchester, Ohio and Bill Stanfield of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Janet (Dewey) Pry of Dexter, Missouri; four grandchildren, James and Richard Stanfield of Penfield, New York and Gage and Kamdon Stanfield of Sikeston, Missouri; a step-granddaughter, Heather Stafford of Fenton, Missouri; and a step great-granddaughter, Zoie Winder of Fenton, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and a sister, Lois Anderson. Visitation will be 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the church with the Rev. Kevin Coffee officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Memorial contributions may be given to Lynwood Baptist Church, 2935 Lynwood Hills Dr., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701. Online condolences may be made at www.fordandsonsfuneralhome.com.
