February 15, 1971 - July 29, 2021
James "Jamie" Turk II, 50, died at his home in Cape Girardeau, MO on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at his home. He was born in Sikeston, MO on February 15, 1971. He is survived by his spouse Suzana Long and 4 children all of Cape Girardeau, MO. As well as many family members, friends and co-workers. He was a graduate of Sikeston High School, Class of 1989 and attended the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO. Although Jamie’s formal education led him to pursue Engineering, his passion lay in the culinary world. He worked in several restaurants, dreaming of someday owning his own. He also loved baseball and was a Chicago Cubs Fan. He was employed at the Olive Garden Restaurant in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Jamie met, fell in love with Suzana Long and their enduring relationship produced four wonderful children, Kayleigh, Elizabeth, Jeffrey and Justin. There was no passion greater than the love for his kids. You could bet that if you held a conversation with him for any length of time, he was going to brag on his kids. Jeffrey carries his dad’s intelligence and passion for music. The girls, Kayleigh and Elizabeth, made their dad proud every time they stepped on the dirt, and he worked to help them sharpen their skills every time he had the chance. Justin was his “best-bud” and he loved that little guy like no one else. Jamie was always looking out for his family and always encouraged them to work hard and succeed in life. Visitation will be 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Johnie Blissett, II officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
