Dr. George E. Magaletta, 90 years old, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri passed away at his home on June 24, 2021. He was born January 1, 1931 to Rocco and Alice Joudrey Magaletta in Boston, Massachusetts. He was of the Catholic faith. Dr. Magaletta graduated from St. Louis University in 1956, opened his practice in Cape and was here until 1985 when he moved back to St. Louis. He retired and moved back to Cape in 2005. He loved swimming, scuba diving, traveling with his wife, and cooking. He cooked with garlic so much his family gave him the name "Garlic Gramps". He is survived by his wife, Lucinda Cash Magaletta of 37 years; six children, Diane (Terry) Meatheany of O'Fallon, Missouri. Ed (Kim) Magaletta of Chesterfield, Missouri, Christine (John) Aliberti of Florissant, Missouri, Cathy (Ben) Bade of Bloomer, Wisconsin, Mary Wertke of Chicago, Illinois and Debbie Gates of Tampa, Florida; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ann Donahue of Dayton, Ohio.
