    Earlean Thomas

    October 10, 1940 - March 28, 2022

    Earlean Thomas, 81, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri departed this life Monday, March 28, 2022 at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born October 10, 1940 in Oran, Missouri to Guy Clark and Morean Weakley Hamilton. She graduated from Scott County High School in 1960 and was a majorette. She and Rev. Johnny Thomas were married May 13, 1962 at Sikeston, Missouri. She worked at daycares in the area and at the Lutheran Home as a cook. She loved to watch pro wrestling with Derrick. She loved to walk outside with her dog, Duke. Her two favorite songs were "I Won't Complain" and "Never Would Have Made It". She was a member of LaCroix Church in Cape Girardeau and also traveled on missions with LaCroix Church in 2014. She was a Sunday school teacher, First Lady and served on the missionary board at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was a woman of God, wonderful wife and praying mother, with a forgiving heart. She wrote letters to God every night. Earlean leave to cherish three sons, Eric Thomas of Cape Girardeau, Patrick (Allison) Thomas of Kansas City, Kansas and Derrick Thomas of Cape Girardeau; four daughters, Beverly (Kennith) Morris of Sikeston, Missouri, Queen (Calvin) Payne of Cape Girardeau, Constance Renee (Stephen) Thomas-Wilson of Columbia, South Carolina, Nakeba (Tracey) Brown of Kennett, Missouri; six brothers, Michael (Connie) Hamilton of Haywood City, Missouri, Carl (Ethel) Hamilton of Sikeston, Missouri, Robert (Bernice) Hamilton of St. Louis, Missouri, Gary Clark of Oregon, Leo (Bobby) Clark of Sacramento, California, Michael Clark of Sacramento, California; six sisters, Sharon Stinson of Seattle, Washington, Jessie (Lennon) Carter of Sacramento, California, Mary (James) Curry of St. Louis, Missouri, Phyllis Rowe of Columbia, Missouri, Patricia (Joe) Cagle of Caruthersville, Missouri; a granddaughter, Asia (Thomas Morris) Thomas of Cape Girardeau that they raised as a daughter and her son, Thomas Morris, Jr.; special friend, Karen Ward-Stroder; family friend, Robert Ellis of Cape Girardeau; family dog, Duke Thomas; 24 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Genevieve Dockery. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, John Thomas; a daughter, Lisa Ann Thomas; six brothers, Lander Clark, Larry Lance, Don Weakley, Lee Hamilton, John Hamilton and Cleotis Weakley; a sister, Evelyn Ruben; a granddaughter, Jennifer Diane Thomas; two great-granddaughters; and her step-mother, Katheryn Clark. Visitation will be 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, April 1, 2022 at LaCroix United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am Friday at the church with the Revs. Ron Watts and Rob Mehner officiating. Burial will be at Sunset of Memory Cemetery in Sikeston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Thomas family. Online condolences may be made at www.fordandsonsfuneralhome.com. Ford & Sons Funeral Home - Mt.
