Donald Dean Ford Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donald Dean Ford, 86, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Monticello House. He was born July 26, 1935 in Kennett, Missouri to the late Clarence Esco and Nancy Myrtice Lasater Ford. Don and Glenda Townsend were married July 18, 1954 in Kinder, Missouri. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson. He was an avid fisherman, worked hard to provide for his family, enjoyed his grandchildren, loved mowing, never met a stranger, loved watching baseball, and enjoyed bowling. Don was able to enjoy 30 years of retirement. He was a member of Puxico Indians Basketball under coach Ryan and were state Champions in the early 1950’s. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Ford of Jackson; sons, Steven (Cindy) Ford of Osage Beach, Missouri and Donald Gene (Stephanie) of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Kathy Hughes of St. Louis; five grandchildren, Dan Ford, Jason Ford, Jennifer Ford, Fred Ford, Evie Ford; two great-grandchildren, Lena and Mason; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ralph Ford and a sister Joann Weber. Funeral service will be at 12:00 noon Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Ford and Sons Funeral Home- Jackson with Fred Ritter, Ray Placher and Randy Riley officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Brown Cemetery in Puxico. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Crown Hospice.
