Barbara Jean Bridges

Barbara Jean Bridges, 82, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Thursday, February 3, 2022 in Wappapello, Missouri. She was born March 20, 1939 in Los Angeles California to Roy Marshall and Agnes Florine Roberts Killion. She graduated from Reseda High School, and studied at California State University at Northridge. She and Richard Eilers were married August 28, 1958 in Hollywood, California. He preceded her in death on July 14, 2010. She was a member of Cape First Baptist Church and Southeast Missouri Hospital Auxilary and also volunteered at the hospital. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Karen Yates for many years. Survivors include two sons, Steven Russell Eilers of Yucaipa, CA, Scott Douglas Eilers of Austin, Texas; daughter, Karen Lynn (Matt) Webster of Charlotte, NC; sister, Margaret Jo Anne (Alvin) Farless of Cape Girardeau, MO; and eight grandchildren. Funeral Service will be at Cape County Mausoleum Chapel on Saturday February 26 at 10:00 am with the Rev. Phil Roop officiating.
