Adolphus Jordan, Sr., 77, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2021 at home with his family by his side. He was born September 12, 1943 in Lake Providence, Louisiana to the late Harry and Augusta (Shoemaker) Jordan, Jr. Adolphus and Deloris Taylor were married in 1967 and she survives. He worked in the steel mill industry and was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau. Loving survivors include his wife, Deloris of Cape Girardeau; children, Adolphus (Treva) Jordan, Jr., Kimberly Baker (Terry), Crystal Jordan, Felicia (Harvey) Dangerfield, Roger Garner and Sonya Jordan; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ruth Jordan, Zebedee Jordan and Harry Jordan. Homegoing service will be Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel with Rev. Joseph G. Cotton, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at New Lorimier Cemetery.
