Richard Fredrick Dippold, Sr.

On Thursday, July 5th, 2012, Richard Fredrick Dippold, Sr., age 91, of Cape Girardeau, MO, left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He died at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born October 10, 1920 in Longtown , MO. to Rev. L.F. and Irma (Griebel) Dippold. He grew up in New Wells, Missouri and graduated from Jackson High School in 1939. He and Marilyn Grebing were married April 15, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. They were charter members of St. Andrew Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir for over 50 years. Richard served in the Navy during WWII and was a past member of the Exchange Club, and Proemaniers Square Dance Club. He owned and operated Ideal Millwork and co-owned R.D. Mini Storage. He was an avid nature lover and loved to fish with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife and four children; son Richard (Carol) Dippold of Thebes, IL. and their children Deanna, Kristen, and Melanie; son Timothy Dippold of Albuquerque, NM. and his fiance` Sherry May, and children Timothy Jr. and Erin Nguyen; daughter Nancy (Donald) Robertson of Gordonville, MO. and their children Matthew and Mikayla; and daughter Susan (Kevin) Brannock of O'Fallon, MO. and their children Dale, Ross, and Lance; and Great Granddaughter Elizabeth Nguyen. He is also survived by his sister Irma Willson, and two brothers Hugo Dippold and Edgar Dippold. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Evelyn Mueller, and one brother, Walter Dippold. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday, July 08, 2012 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Funeral will be at 10:00 AM Monday, July 09, 2012 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Paul Short officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau with military rites conducted by the Missouri Honor Guard.
