Mary J. Strack

Mary Jean Strack, age 85, passed away December 15 at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born on December 25, 1939, on the family farm in Kelso Missouri to Walter and Augusta (Dumey) Dohogne. She graduated Catholic High School (Notre Dame) in 1958. On May 13, 1961, she married Jerry Lee Strack at the Saint Augustine Church in Kelso Missouri. Mary was employed at First National Bank and later devoted many years to being a homemaker. She was also co-owner of Strack Equipment Inc., a John Deere Agricultural Dealership. She was a faithful member of St. Vincent De Paul church and the Women's Council. Her hobbies included gardening and cooking. In addition, she and Jerry enjoyed many years antiquing, attending auctions and spending time at their cabin at Hidden Valley Fishing Club fishing with their family. She is survived by her three children, Tammy Slinkard of Moody, Alabama, Vicky (John) Kerby of Scott City, Missouri and Jeffrey (Shari) Strack of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Lauren Slinkard of Bedminster, New Jersey, William (Bess) Slinkard of Birmingham, Alabama, Kyle (Brittany) Kerby of Scott City, Missouri, Garrett (Sara) McMillan of Torrance, California and Amanda (Alex) Fornoff of Golden, Colorado. She is further survived by five great-grandchildren, Emmett McMillan of Torrance, California, Whitaker Slinkard of Birmingham, Alabama, Amelia McMillan of Torrance, California, Wells Slinkard of Birmingham, Alabama and Eleanor Kerby of Scott City, Missouri; a brother, Melvin (Mary Carol) Dohogne of Fenton, Missouri and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Strack, February 19, 2000; her parents; a sister, Shirley Boham; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Marsha Dohogne; and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Dortha Strack. Visitation will be held 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, December 19, 2025 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with Parish Prayers and Rosary at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 20th at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, with internment immediately at St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau Missouri.
