Marjory Kramer

Marjory (Marge) L. Kramer, 82 of Cape Girardeau passed away March 1, 2015 at home due to natural causes. Marge was born on July 20, 1932 in Durand, MI daughter of Louis J. and Laura B. Conrad Kunkel. She was the youngest of four children. She graduated from Durand High School in 1950 and then worked for Dean Bros. Chevrolet for two years before moving to California where she met her future husband Jack O. Kramer. Jack and Marge were married on February 6, 1954 in Nestor, CA. Marge was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was very involved in various Church Organizations. She served for several years providing training for the leaders of the women�s organization and leaders of the youth organization of The Church. This required extensive travel throughout SE Missouri and Illinois with trips as far north as Green Bay, WI and as far south as Paris, TN. She was very involved in service within the community. She used her time collecting for the various health organizations, but is most remembered for her work with the cerebral Palsy Center. She served several years as volunteers� chairman for the KFVS-TV Cerebral Palsy Telethon. She loved children and found much satisfaction working with those who had special needs. By nature, Marge was a happy person with an outgoing personality who loved people. She loved cars and particularly enjoyed her convertibles. Music brought great joy to her life, she had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She enjoyed performing in the local Junior Chamber of Commerce annual JC Follies. Marge loved to share her talents of cooking and entertaining with others. Despite dealing with chronic pain, and declining health for the past 20 years, she always had a smile on her face and when asked how she was doing, her reply was always "I am doing great." Marge felt an individual�s name was very important to them once she met them and always made it a point to remember their name, and address them as such. She is survived by her husband Jack, son Scott (Cindy) Kramer of Saugus, CA, sister-in-law Karen (Richard) Hales of West Jordan, UT, three grandchildren, Karlye (Kevin) Risdon of Cashmere, WA, Bradley (Ashley) Kramer of Elk Ridge, UT and Ashley Kramer of Saugus, CA, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one child who was stillborn, two sisters and one brother. Marge leaves behind many close friends who love her dearly. She was a mentor to them, and many relied on her for her advice and wise counsel. She was an influence for good. Visitation will be at Ford and Sons Funeral Home on Mt. Auburn Rd on Tuesday, March 3, 20105 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. There will be a visitation on the day of the Funeral Wednesday, March 4 from 10:00 to 10:45am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 1048 W. Cape Rock Rd. in Cape Girardeau, MO with the funeral starting at 11:00 am with Bishop James Chesnick officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park. Memorial donations can be sent to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
