Joe David Frank

Joe David Frank, 61, of Jackson, Mo. died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Mo. He was born Friday, October 17, 1952 in Cape Girardeau to Alvin Martin and Adella Catherine Kirchdoerfer Frank. He and Kay Grantham were married February 8, 1975 in Chaffee, Mo. Joe David was a 1971 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School. He was a plasterer for Miller Drywall in Scott City for 13 years and was a member of the Plasterers Union in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson and Knights of Columbus Council # 6405. Joe David was a member of numerous soccer referee associations including MSHSAA, USSF, and SEMSRA. During the 2011-2012 season, Joe David received a plaque for his 25 year commitment to MSHSAA and was recently selected to referee his fourth Missouri State High School Championship soccer game. Joe David was a former NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Soccer referee. He also served as a soccer referee at the Show Me State Games for more than 20 years. Family was important to Joe David. He coached his children in a number of sports. He loved going to Lake Wappapello, camping, floating, fishing, and vacationing in Branson with his kids and grandkids. Survivors include his mother, Adella Frank of Chaffee, Mo.; wife, Kay Frank of Jackson; son, Jason Frank (Natalie Goodwin-Frank) of Freeburg, Ill.; daughter, Jaymie Castens (Chris) of Collinsville, Ill.; brothers, Michael Frank (Debbie) of Cape Girardeau, Alvin Frank, Jr. (Kim) of Chaffee, Mo.; sisters, Mary Ann Hennecke of Cape Girardeau, Barb Beel (Roy) of Bonnots Mill, Mo.; grandchildren, Kaylynn Castens, Connor Castens, Paisley Frank, and expecting twin girls. He was preceded in death by his father. Friends may call 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Parish prayers will be at 7:00 PM with Knights of Columbus rosary immediately following. Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson with Rev. William Hennecke and Rev. John Harth concelebrating. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be given to Notre Dame Regional High School Soccer Program.
