James Clyde Mize

James Clyde Mize, 89, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri died Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at his home. He was born April 20, 1936 in Wilson, Arkansas to James Aaron and Maud Maybell Clubbs Mize. He and Loretta Fay Briscoe were married July 5, 1955 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He worked at Weithop Trucks for 22 years, retiring April 30, 1997. He was a hardworking man that was devoted to taking care and loving his family. Survivors include a son, Steve (Sandy) Mize of Jackson, Missouri; two daughters, Linda (Bobby) Miller of Fruitland, Missouri and Anita Mize of St. Louis, Missouri; five brothers, Wayne Mize of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Jess Mize of Florissant, Missouri, Jim (Shirley) Mize of Fenton, Missouri, Sonny (Norma) Mize of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Larry (Becky) Mize of Pulaski, Tennessee; a sister, Joyce Trout of Omaha, Nebraska; 12 grandchildren, Dana (Matt) Reno of Nashville, Tennssee, Daron Wilkinson of Jackson, Missouri, Heather (Tyler) Thompson of Jackson, Missouri, Jessica (David) Boyd of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Garrett Mize of Jackson, Missouri, Devin (Jennie) Bell of St. Charles, Missouri, Alicia (Gabe) Baugh of Jackson, Missouri, Travis (Bethany) Bell of Springfield, Missouri, Justin (Alana) Borgfield of Daisy, Missouri, Casey (Cody) Fenton of Branson, Missouri, Amy Jo (Trent) Garner of Oak Ridge, Missouri and Quentin (Jenna) Miller of Oak Ridge, Missouri; 20 great-grandchildren, Cohen and Gracen Thompson, Liam Reno, Ava, Coy and Adlee Boyd, Bristol Wilkinson, Eli and Ava Bell, Jack, Hayes and Bridger Baugh, Lincoln and Alice Bell, Kaden and Tristen Borgfield, Addie and Emma Fenton, Cooper Garner and Leo James Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents; the love of his life, Loretta Mize; and a great-grandson, Owen Charles Bell. Visitation will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Cody Fenton officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
