Iona Williams

Iona Williams, 93, of Cape Girardeau, died August 23, 2025 at Lost Creek Lodge in Greenville, Missouri. She was born April 18, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to Albert and Mary Jane Cook Sebastian. She and Harry Williams were married June 21, 1963, in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2004. She was a top stitcher at International Shoe and Hay Day Shoe. She also worked for her family at Travelers Café and Sebastian's Café. In 1973 Iona and her brother Billy Sebastian opened Lost Creek Lodge on Wappapello Lake in Greenville MO. For 52 years folks from all over came there for fishing, laughter and friendship. She was a Life member of Maple Avenue Methodist Church and Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors include nephews, Joe (Abby) Popp and Gerald Popp; niece, Tammy Popp; great nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Tim) Becker, Joanne Popp, Jonathan Popp, Jamie (Tim) Maklary, Brian Popp (Beth), Justin (Morgan) Popp, Cory (Amber) Popp, Jackie (Chris) McAllister, Jessica (Ben) Vinyard, Rikki (Steven) McCarthy, William (Tiffani) Popp; great, great nephews and nieces, Tabitha Martin (Kevin), Emma, Matthew, Jackson, Kyleigh, Jeremiah, TJ, Max "Buster", Wyatt, Nora, Natalie, Luca, Chance, Courtney, Averie, Taylor, Elliot, Mariella, Lily, Oliver, and Bailey; great grandchildren, Gage Shipman, Gretta Shipman and Gracen Trickey; cherished friends, Harold and Tuttie Vanhuss, Ann Hudson and Donna Yarbro and numerous church friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, William Dean Sebastian; sister, Juanita Popp of Cape Girardeau; nephew, Larry Popp of Cape Girardeau; and stepdaughter, Della Lukow of Cape Girardeau. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Friday, August 29, 2025 at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Estes officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
