Hugo James William Wunderlich Jr.

Hugo James William Wunderlich Jr., 86, of Burfordville, Missouri went home to be with his beloved Jesus, Saturday, August 14, 2021, at his home with his family by his side. He was born March 7, 1935, in New Wells, Missouri to Hugo Paul and Evelyn K. Torrence Wunderlich Sr. He and Judith A. Davis were married November 9, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Survivors include his wife, Judith A. Davis Wunderlich of Burfordville, Missouri; two sons, Mark D. (Patricia) Wunderlich of Webster Groves, Missouri, and Keith A. (Lesley) Wunderlich of Ballwin, Missouri; two daughters, Cristy G. (Dan III) Richardson of Cape Girardeau and Lisa R. (Dale) Williams of Jackson, Missouri; two brothers, Don (Doris) Wunderlich of Cape Girardeau and Darrel (Charlotte) Wunderlich of Kentucky Lake, Kentucky and one sister-in-law, Glenda R. Wunderlich of Cape Girardeau Missouri and many niece and nephews; 11 grandchildren: Daniel (Jessica) Richardson, IV, Dustin (Jennifer) Richardson, Dean(Julie) Richardson, Joshua (Ashley) Koehler, Erik (Kayla) Koehler, Dr. Seth (Whitney) Koehler, Derek (Emily) Williams, all of Cape Girardeau/Jackson, Garrett (Stephanie) Williams, Stephanie Wunderlich, Paige Wunderlich of St. Louis and James Wunderlich of Breckenridge, CO, and 17 great-grandchildren: Alexis and Isabelle Richardson, Marie and Ada Richardson, Mia and Abe Richardson, Cobie, Camile and Corbyn Koehler, Kayden, Jude, Charlie, Blake Koehler, Bryce Koehler, Stratton Williams all of Cape Girardeau/Jackson, Missouri, Payne and Harris Williams of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mildred Overbeck and Cathy Clippard; and two brothers, Kenneth Wunderlich and Robert Wunderlich. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau was honorably discharged from the US Air Force and attend Southeast Missouri State University. He loved playing golf and spending time with his family. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, August 20, 2021, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. Memorial service will follow at 2:00 pm Friday at the church with the Rev. John Dehne officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, with full military honors.
