Harold Webb, Sr.

Harold Webb, Sr., 81, of Cape Girardeau, MO, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at his home. He was born October 29, 1929 in Lovejoy, IL to John I. and Mattie Mae Bell Webb . He and Wilma L. Brown were married Saturday, March 29, 1948 at Corinth, Mississippi. Harold worked as a supervisor for Swift & Co. in East St. Louis, Illinois from 1945 until he joined the Army in 1952. Harold was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean War. After serving in the Army, Harold returned to Swift where he retired after a total of 40 years. He loved to go to horse races. Harold confessed his faith in Jesus at a young age. Survivors include his Wife of 63 years- Wilma Webb, Cape Girardeau, MO Son - Harold Webb, Jr. (Linda), Cape Girardeau, MO Son - John "Tony" Webb, East St. Louis, IL Son - Johnny Smith, Jr., Cape Girardeau, MO Son - Edgar McIntyre, Venice, IL Daughter - Madeline Webb-Fletcher (Albino Bejinez), Long Beach, CA Daughter - Kimetha Patterson, Long Beach, CA Daughter - Mariel Webb-Lyons, Edwardsville, IL Daughter - Willa Pikes (Edmund), Cape Girardeau, MO Daughter - Teresa Harris (Eorrell), Cape Girardeau, MO Daughter - Colleen Jones-Wallace (Anthony), Los Angeles, CA Daughter - Lisa Williams (Calvin), East St. Louis, IL Daughter - Lynetta Montgomery (David), Jacksonville, IL Daughter - Denise Brown, Orlando, FL Brother - Marvin Webb, Huntington, TN and 31 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Zenobia Murphy and Erma Webb, a brother, Jewell Webb, and a son, Tommy Kennedy. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Ford & Sons Sprigg St. Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau and then again from 10:00AM to service time on Saturday April 16, 2011 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral will be at 12:00 Noon Saturday, April 16, 2011 at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Johnny Thomas officiating.
