Eugene Holloway Jr.

Eugene Holloway Jr.,68, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, June 11, 2020, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born January 7, 1952, in Cape Girardeau, son of H. Eugene Holloway, Sr. and Joyce Nichols Holloway. He and Marsha A. White were married March 10, 1979, in Cape Girardeau. Eugene Holloway, Jr. was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He proudly served in the United State Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. Truly an outdoorsman, Eugene enjoyed fishing and traveling the world hunting with all his friends and family. He especially loved duck hunting with his beloved black lab Drake. He lived life to the fullest and was always an inspiration to his family and friends. Eugene Holloway Jr. continued his father’s dream by becoming the second generation to run Holloway Carpet One Floor and Home. Eugene Holloway Sr. and Eugene Holloway, Jr. dreams are still being fulfilled by second and third generations of family. He then expanded his knowledge and experience in the flooring industry when he opened Stone Mountain Carpet Outlet along with his real estate investments. His legacy is being continued by his wife and children. He will be dearly missed by his mother, wife, children: Jared (Christy Ziegler) Holloway of Cape Girardeau and Megan (Josh) Andrews of Cape Girardeau, three brothers, David (Candy) Holloway of Flagstaff, Ariz., Kerry (Kelly) Holloway of Cape Girardeau, Lance (Lynne) Holloway of Jackson, a sister, Valarie (Ted) Matthews of Springhill, TN, brother-in-law, Kenneth (Laura) White of Silex, MO, and sister-in-law, Nancy (Greg) Behlmann of Silex, MO. Also 3 grandchildren, Mason Ziegler of Cape Girardeau, Aubrie Holloway of Cape Girardeau, and Olivia Ziegler of Cape Girardeau. He will also be missed by all his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Holloway, Sr. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Southeast Hospice. Visitation will be from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow 6:30 pm Sunday at the funeral home with full Military Honors. Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
