Donna Mae Pritchard

Donna Mae Pritchard, 73, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, died Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital. She was born February 24, 1953 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to J.D. and Ruth Woods Chenoweth. She was a sibling to four sisters and one brother. She and Robert "Bob" Pritchard were married November 26, 1977 in Cape Girardeau. She was a loving and proud mother of two and grandmother of three. Donna was raised in Cape Girardeau and spoke fondly of her early years growing up with her family and attending Cape Central High. A cheerleader and homecoming queen, she developed lifelong friendships that she dearly cherished. She later attended Metro Business College and Southeast Missouri State University. She worked several years at 1st National Bank downtown, memorably serving as Mrs. Santa Claus for the business's popular "Can-o-Cash" holiday promotion. Donna and Robert met near this time and he soon found out what a special girl he had. They were married in 1977 at Grace United Methodist Church. Things kicked into higher gear when they became owners and operators of their own business, Park Pharmacy in Doctor's Park, which they ran for over thirty years. They worked together closely and developed professional relationships and personal friendships with many in the Cape community and surrounding area. Donna was a loving, attentive, and caring mother. Intent on sharing in her girls' passions, she helped with Girl Scouts and played in the Grace Church bell choir with her daughters. She made many Halloween outfits and co-piloted the family's annual road trips. Everyday situations were made magical with her special touch. Her two daughters grew to be beautiful, smart, kindhearted women who loved her deeply. Retiring in 2017, Donna and Robert traveled together and spent time enjoying their kids and welcoming grandkids, who affectionately called her "Maemee" and whom she adored and treasured being around. She cherished the vibrant company of her brothers and sisters all her life, and her many nieces and nephews enhanced her circle of love. Donna loved to travel, cross stitch, lure Monarch butterflies and hummingbirds to her flower garden, eat chocolate of any kind, dance with her husband, play with her dog Barney, host 4th of July celebrations, and display Christmas decorations. She was an artist, designer, and style icon. She brightened any event with her warmth and playful humor. If a sunbeam could be captured in human form, Donna Pritchard would be it. She lived a good life, a full life, a happy life. Perhaps this is why she always had a sweet disposition, a smile on her face, and a twinkle in her eye. Donna was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for many years and later in life LaCroix Methodist Church. Her faith in the Lord helped her cope with health struggles the last 1 ½ years, knowing that all her loved ones would someday meet again in God's embrace. Survivors include her husband, Robert Paul Pritchard of Cape Girardeau; mother, Ruth Woods Chenoweth of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Holly Anne (Earl) Bradley of Clarksville, Tennessee and Paige Amanda Pritchard of Oakland, California; a brother, Brent (Barb) Chenoweth of Jackson, Missouri; three sisters, Janet Hampton of Decatur, Alabama, Jeanie (David) Proctor of Nellysford, Virginia, and Teri Thomas of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren, Earl "Otto" Bradley V, Kit Elizabeth Bradley, and Anna Bradley all of Clarksville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her father. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Amy Leachman officiating. Burial will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Memorial contributions may be given to LaCroix Church or Southeast Missouri Pets.
