Carole Lea Pfeiffer

Carole Lea Pfeiffer, 76, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri met her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 8, 2025 while in the care of the wonderful ER staff at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born October 5, 1948 in Cape Girardeau, MO to Bud and Elda Byrd Masterson. She and Wayne Pfeiffer were married August 8, 1975 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pocahontas, Missouri. Carole and Wayne are members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, MO where they spent many years serving and worshiping the Lord together. Carole graduated from Cape Central High School in 1966 and then went on to graduate from Southeast Missouri State University in 1971. Her true passion for teaching began at the Charleston Missouri School District. Her teaching career then transitioned to a 25 year tenure with Jackson R2 School District in Jackson, MO where she taught and shared her love of Computer Science to countless students. After her well deserved retirement from the Jackson R2 School District, she went on to teach for 20 years as an instructor at Southeast Missouri State University in the Computer Science Department. She has always been known in the community as Mrs. Pfeiffer and she loved showing, teaching, and touching so many lives throughout her career. She was passionate and caring. And, she truly loved being a teacher. To her family, she was known as Mom and Momo. She loved each of us with so much caring, kindness, and compassion. Her grandchildren were everything to her and she absolutely enjoyed being a part of their lives and being involved with all of their accomplishments and activities. Carole had a very strong conviction about her family and her grandkids, she was so proud of all three. She tried her best to be at every extra curricular event for her grandchildren, including soccer, golf, and gymnastics. Whether she was watching these at home or attending these events in person, she was always so involved. Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Wayne Pfeiffer of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Travis (Jean) Ward of Southlake, TX and Brent (Susan) Pfeiffer of Cape Girardeau, MO and three grandchildren, Kinnison Ward, Johnathan Pfeiffer, and Graysen Pfeiffer She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 12th at Ford & Sons Jackson Funeral Home in Jackson, MO. A memorial service will be held after the visitation at the funeral home with Pastor John Dehne officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the St. Paul Lutheran School Angel Fund to assist with the educational costs for the youth of the Church.
