Betty Lucille Hahs

Betty Lucille Hahs, 98, of Daisy, Missouri passed away peacefully Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the Villas of Jackson. She was born September 13, 1927 in Oak Ridge, Missouri to Robert Lee and Effie Jane Fronabarger. She and Delbert Leon Hahs were married April 29, 1945, and they were married 67 years before he passed away in 2012. Betty graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1945. She was a homemaker for several years, then worked at various places for short times after graduation with her main employment being at the Cape County Courthouse starting out as a County Registration Clerk, then Deputy County Clerk, and finally an election supervisor. She was employed there for 27 years before retiring in 1992. Betty was a member of New Salem United Methodist Church for many years holding various positions with the longest being church treasurer for 25 years. She was also an active member of the United Methodist Women. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchild, family and friends so very much and was very admired as someone to look up to. She was very blessed. She lived in her home on the family farm until July 2024 at the age of 96 and then moved to The Villas of Jackson. Survivors include a son, Darrell (Janet) Hahs of Friedheim, Missouri; two daughters, Sharon Bogenpohl of Oak Ridge, Missouri and Charlotte (Larry) Ludwig of Woodson, Illinois; a daughter-in-law, Loeta Hahs of Oak Ridge, Missouri; two sister-in-laws, Rada Lou Kamp of Jackson, Missouri and Betty Friese of Friedheim, Missouri; eight grandchildren, David (Jessica) Bogenpohl, Terry (Erica) Bogenpohl, Sheri (Jody) Ponder, Lori Eddings, Darren Hahs, Erin (Shawn) Roth, Burt (Cynthia) Hahs, Linden Hahs; 13 great-grandchildren, Devin and Reagan Ponder, Clara, Lucy and Wynn Bogenpohl, Alexis Way, Ashlyn Stice, Cohen and Avery Hahs, Paige and Aiden Roth, Everett and Archer Hahs; and a great-great-grandchild, Waylon Ponder; and several nieces and nephews. She was blessed to have her special caregiver come into her home, Tina Seabaugh, and also her hairdresser, Jean McClain. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Robert Leon Hahs; grandson, Ricky Ludwig; three brothers, Carl, Ralph and Otis; three sisters, Cleo, Phillis and Mary Dee; a sister-in-law, Mary Belle Rohde; and a son-in-law, Leonard Bogenpohl. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Jackson and one hour prior to the service time of 10:00 am Friday, May 29, 2026 at New Salem United Methodist Church in Daisy with the Rev. Kevin Sunday officiating. She will be laid to rest at New Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Daisy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to New Salem United Methodist Church or New Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
