Richard Ivan Arnold, 68 of Jonesboro, IL, peacefully passed away surrounded by family, on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Richard was born January 13, 1943 in Cape Girardeau, MO to William Lloyd and Rosebud Markhart Arnold. On May 4, 1963, Richard and Cecilia Enderle were married in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Kelso, MO.

Richard received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla "65"He was a member of Union County Knights of Columbus #6968, Anna Moose Lodge, and VFW Men's Auxiliary in Anna, IL, and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Paducah, KY. He was employed by the Illinois Department of Transportation as a Registered Professional Engineer. After his service of 33 years, 11 months, Richard retired and then worked for the Union County Highway Department for 10 years.

Survivors include: Wife, Cecilia Arnold, Jonesboro, IL, Sons, William Lloyd Arnold, Tucson, AZ, Douglas P. Arnold, Paducah, KY, Son-in-law, Jerry J Menees, Millstadt, IL Two grandsons, Jerry Richard Menees and Brandon Scott Menees, Millstadt, IL and one great-granddaughter Isabella Cheyenne Menees, of Millstadt. IL. Other survivors include brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws Ralph and Mary Lou Heisserer, Oran, MO, and Mark and Georgia Ressel, Kelso, MO. Nieces and nephews include, Annette Ressel, Jackson, MO, Colette and Paul Hendrickson, Stephen and Sandy Ressel, Cape Girardeau, MO, Karl and Barbara Heisserer, Indianapolis, IN, Melvin and Shirley Heisserer, Shiloh, IL, Dolores Heisserer, Oran, MO, Ron and Diane Enderle, Scott City, MO, Mark and Jane Ressel, Kelso, MO, as well as many great nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Pamela Mary Arnold-Menees, Millstadt, IL and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul & Mary Ann Enderle, Scott City, MO.

Richard loved Country Music, NASCAR, movies, travelling, playing pool and cards with family. He would entertain with his piano and trumpet playing. He also enjoyed teaching his son, Doug, piano, as well as playing trumpet with both sons.

 A funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Paducah, KY on Saturday, October 15, 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Paducah Ford & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
